Applications installed versus number actually used

Background: Most software applications are licensed per installation rather than usage. Simply put, when you install an application on a computer it is counted as a license used even if you never actually run the application. Problem Scenarios: (i) Your company has re-purposed 20 older computers from one department to another. New computers were purchased for the first department. On each new computer an already owned copy of the AutoCAD application was installed. However, those older 20 machines also have the application AutoCAD installed.
