If you will be upgrading (or installing) Windows 10 Build 1809 or any subsequent version of windows 10 please verify your SofTrack workstation agents (LWA) are v7.20k or later. Use of prior LWA versions on Windows 10 Build 1809 or later will result in a crash upon boot up, this due to an undocumented change by Microsoft.

Windows 10 Build 1809 was originally released in early October 2018 and re-released by Microsoft in November 2018. Please know this alert is for that version of Windows 10 and all versions that follow.

On July 26, 2019 we released an updated SofTrack Local Workstation Agent (LWA) (and server agent + console). This new LWA is v7.25a and starting with that version (including all future versions) can be configured to automatically update.

Once LWA v7.25a is installed, and SofTrack Server Agent v7.14n (x32) or v8.14n (x64) is in-use, use the SofTrack Console, Settings tab, Options section, and enable the checkbox:

[x] Allow SSA to check for LWA Updates on and communicate results to LWAs for Automatic LWA Update

When that checkbox is enabled the SSA will connect to once per hour to check for the current LWA version available for download. If a new version is found, the LWAs at each workstation will connect to and download the new LWA version and install the update the next time the PC is restarted.

Installation via MSI/PushConsole/other is still required for initial LWA installation and to upgrade an older LWA prior to v7.25a. However, once LWA v7.25a or later is installed, and the above is true, the LWAs will automatically update to the latest version with no further intervention.
